The night and the cafes …and most of all the lights which are the reason for which I wanted to paint this subject.

As it was a cold and rainy evening I had no other chance than taking a picture as reference and it took me a while even to do so.

I noticed that corner of Vienna already last year and as it happens, the idea to paint it was kept in my mind for a long time. Finally I was there shortly again and the occasion came to take some photos to be used as reference- the winter mood and the waters on the street was even better that what I had in my imagination and i really enjoyed to paint the contrasts.
